1 Introduction
These Developer terms ("Developer Terms") apply to anyone who registers as a developer on developers.traxevo.com, creates an app, creates an API token, or otherwise uses the Traxevo application programming interface (the "API").
The Developer Terms form part of your agreement with Traxevo together with the General terms of use and the General business partner terms. If they conflict, these Developer Terms prevail for anything relating to the API and your apps.
By ticking the acceptance box when you sign up or create an app, you agree to these Developer Terms.
2 Your developer account
You must hold an active Traxevo account and sign up as a developer with the same email address. You may hold one developer account.
The information you give us must be true, complete and kept up to date. If you sign up for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to act for it.
Markup can only be paid to an account whose proof of identity and proof of address have been approved.
You are responsible for everything done with your developer account, your apps and your API tokens.
3 Registering apps
Each app you register receives an app ID. App names may only use letters, numbers, spaces and underscores, up to 48 characters, and must not contain "Traxevo" or any name that suggests your app is run or endorsed by Traxevo.
Redirect URLs for web apps must be addresses you control and must use https, except local addresses used for testing.
We may review any app at any time and may ask you for information about it. We may refuse, suspend or remove an app that breaks these Developer Terms or puts clients at risk.
4 API access and tokens
You may only access the API through the methods we document. Web apps must use our log-in flow, so clients enter their Traxevo password, two-factor code or passkey only on traxevo.com. Your app must never ask clients for their Traxevo password.
API tokens and access tokens are secret. Store them securely, never place them in public code, and revoke any token you believe has been exposed.
Only request the scopes your app needs. Using a scope for anything other than its stated purpose is not allowed.
You must respect the rate limits and fair-use limits we publish. We may slow down or block traffic that harms the service for other users.
5 Prices, payouts and results
Markets, contract types, prices, payouts, barriers, profit and loss and contract results are calculated by Traxevo servers only. Your app displays them; it must not change, invent, hide or misrepresent them.
Your app must show clients the risk warning we provide and must not promise or suggest guaranteed profits.
A contract exists only when our servers confirm it. Records on our servers are final in any dispute about a contract placed through your app.
6 Markup
You may set a markup of between 0% and 3% for each app. We may change the maximum with notice published on developers.traxevo.com.
Markup is part of the contract price shown to the client at the moment of purchase, so a client using your app receives a slightly lower payout than on Traxevo directly. It is earned on every real-money contract bought through your app ID, whether the contract wins or loses. No markup is earned on demo accounts.
Traxevo calculates markup from its own records. The Commission report shows your figures; any data shown for the current day may be delayed.
7 Payment of markup
Markup earned in a calendar month is paid into your partner wallet between the 10th and 16th of the following month. You can move the balance from your partner wallet to your Traxevo account.
If your verification is not approved when a payment is due, the payment is held until it is.
We may withhold, adjust or reclaim markup linked to fraud, abuse, self-trading designed to earn markup, chargebacks, errors or any breach of these Developer Terms.
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to the markup you receive.
8 Branding and marketing
You may state that your app is "Powered by Traxevo". You may not use the Traxevo name, logo or design as your own brand, or in a way that suggests Traxevo runs your app.
Marketing for your app must be fair, clear and not misleading, must not target people under 18, and must follow the General business partner terms.
9 Client data and privacy
Use client data you receive through the API only to provide your app to that client. You must not sell it, share it with others or use it for unrelated marketing.
You must protect client data with appropriate security, publish a privacy notice for your app and comply with the data protection laws that apply to you.
Tell us within 72 hours if you become aware of any unauthorised access to client data or tokens connected to your app.
10 Prohibited conduct
You must not: try to manipulate prices, results or settlement; exploit errors or delays; place trades for clients without their clear instruction; build tools that hide risk; copy or resell market data; reverse engineer or overload the service; attempt to access other accounts; or use the API for any unlawful purpose.
Breaking this clause may lead to immediate suspension of your apps and developer account and the loss of unpaid markup linked to the breach.
11 Suspension and termination
You may delete your apps or stop using the API at any time.
We may suspend or end your access to the API, your apps or your developer account at any time if you break these Developer Terms, if required by law, or to protect clients or the service. Where we can, we will tell you why.
Markup earned in good standing before termination is paid in the normal payment window unless clause 7.3 applies.
12 Liability
The API, templates and documentation are provided as they are. We do not promise they will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or retire any part of them.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data arising from your use of the API. Our total liability to you under these Developer Terms is limited to the markup paid to you in the three months before the claim.
You agree to compensate Traxevo for losses caused by your breach of these Developer Terms or by your app.
13 Changes and governing law
We may update these Developer Terms. The version published on this page applies from its date; we will notify you of material changes. If you keep using the API after a change, you accept it.
These Developer Terms are governed by the same law and jurisdiction as the General terms of use.
